Think about it.

If alien life existed (which I'm sure it does), we would never see it and it would never come here. At least from our understanding of physics, and the common sense of theory.

For example: For alien life to travel the distance required to reach us. They would have to of beat physics and developed faster-than-speed-of-light travel. Which from our understanding is impossible, but hey we might obviously might not know all there is to know. Anyway - To accomplish this they would have to have two things.

1. Intelligence that is so beyond anything you could imagine and have reached such a complete state of unity with life and reality itself that they wouldn't have a need to conquer anything.

2. (and this is the most important one) In order to travel at faster than the speed of light, they would need to have sustainable energy beyond comprehension. A power source so powerful and yielding that it would be self-sustaining and never run out. Therefore they would have zero reason to be aggressive, or require any other resources. I mean literally, they would be GODS. The power source required for that type of space travel would just be so great, that there would be no need for anything else.
