Like I said, not a real compelling answer. As to why I should be believed... that's up to you, but there are a couple facts that argue in favor of at least believing that I have a source on this, whether or not my source knows what he/she is talking about:
1) From day 1, I have operated in this business under my real name. When I have something to say, I stand behind it, period, whether the subject is highly controversial, entirely mundane, or somewhere in between.
2) I spent several years writing for various industry media outlets. Some of my coworkers and peers from those days still work for industry media outlets, including AVN.
I know this response is not what you were looking for, but it's all I'm willing to say about it. You and the other people reading this thread can judge my credibility (or lack thereof) for yourselves.
