it's been theorized that they have much larger areas of brain devoted to doing assessments of others around them - something left over from 5-10 million years of competitive band and clan living, and the division of labor, gathering and child rearing for females, hunting defense and exporation for resources for males.
if true, those devoted brain areas also force women to obsessively play status and alliance games more than males, and to lie more devious, including lying to themselves.
