i was there last year, when business was running ok ;]
i don't know how you spend 3 k usd monthly in Isaan, i spent in thailand around 40 usd daily, and it was with intensive travelling...
If I'd stay in one place (especially Isaan), i'd probably spend around 25 bucks daily most ;]
hmm without lady and her family of course....
