Smoking is a grotesque habit and worst of all one that directly affects other unwilling participants nearby by poisoning the atmosphere all around for dozens of feet forcing everyone around to breathe carcinogenic fumes. I don't care if people drink or use drugs, but I wouldn't be cool with alcohol users pissing on me as they drink nor would I tolerate people spilling powder cocaine all over my lunch or jabbing me with heroin needles while they were imbibing nearby. I put it with it once or twice a year at conventions because I get business out of those trips and value my face time with old friends and business associates. But it is indeed a gross spectacle and miserable experience on some level.
