In my world, people are innocent until proven guilty. We have have issues with some, just not the ones everyone seems so happy to revile. Also, we don't run our business based on popular opinions. So until we have first hand knowledge I am not about to listen to a bunch of webmasters most of whom I know for a fact have axes to grind that may have zero to do with anything meaningful to our operations.
Does that make us villains as you seem so intent on making us out to be? I don't think so but go on assuming you know the what, where, when, and why of how we do things. Underestimating us, misinterpreting our actions, and drawing irrational conclusions about us does us more good than bad - we have been around long enough to know that much.

I guess if you cover your eyes and your ears to what is actually going on it makes it easier for you to sleep at night with your "innocent until proven guilty" shit.
I wouldn't be surprised if you are one of the next bigger companies to have a melt down and go by way of the tubes. The tube traffic is helping to keep you afloat now but the tube site owners don't give a shit about you and they will keep making more and more deals cutting into the amount of sales you make from them. The pie is only so big, they don't care how many slices there is, your slice is going to get smaller and smaller till you don't make much from the tubes.
You also way too hung up on your accomplishments from pre 2000. Being in business for "x" long or being featured on CNN or whatever back in 1982 doesn't mean shit these days and it certainty doesn't factor into if you will continue to stay in business and thrive in the future. It just means you did something good "x" many years ago.
Tube sites are just a band aid for traffic and sales, will just prolong your further than most but still wont fix the problem.
