I don't know anyone who's married off match, but I do know a few people who have married off eharmony. I think what makes eharmony work isn't the personality matching "algorythm" as much as the commonality of mindset in their user base.
Generally, people signing up to eharmony are looking for a serious, long term relationship and are seriously committed to their search for finding someone. The 200 some odd question "personality test" as a barrier for entry to a degree insures this. The thing is about as quick and painless as taking the SATs and weeds out anyone who might be interested in the service as a passing fancy.
People who find success on eharmony generally skew older and are looking to settle down. The fear of being alone is a powerful motivator, if you take that away I don't think it works as well. Just my
