ATLANTA (AP) - An Atlanta Public Works employee has been identified as a man who escaped from work release in Florida in 1983.
After Atlanta police arrested Claude Brooks last week they say they found his fingerprints matched those of a man named Edward Nathan, who escaped from a work release detail in Tampa in 1983 and hadn't been seen since.
Atlanta's Department of Public Works says Brooks has been placed on administrative leave.
Police say Brooks was serving a five-year sentence for robbery with a deadly weapon when he escaped.
