Fuck, aren't there your mormon people (or whatever the hell that religion is) that still allows polygamy and shit. It's not widespread so it's tolerated. How can that be tolerated in a developed world and how is that any different at the source from other religions? You brought up stoning as an extreme example, which did exist in christianity. So muslims are delayed in development in that extreme sect... I have never seen anything telling me that public stoning is "accepted" by muslims, or else why don't we see 250,000+ gatherings for stonings? Muslims make up what, 20% of our planet - if it's all ingrained hate, be fucking very afraid.

I don't think anyone is saying christianity is better than islam, maybe more "civilized" in todays world, at least viewed by those in western society. regardless why are muslims delayed in 'evolving', i would say that their religion stops them from developing. if their religion wasn't so strict, would they be driving around in range rovers, enjoying cable tv and mcdonalds? i don't know but as for mormons polygomy isn't legal and the mormom church does not support it, only a small sect that went their seperate way nearly 100 years ago. people have been jailed for it.
