Yes I also shoot side by side with both cams the bigger chips are much better in low light areas, the dynamic range of SONY XDCAMS are far better than the Canon XF stuff.
Now with that said, the Canon XF can auto focus mush faster and far far better than the SONY EX1 and EX3.
Once you learn how to focus and set up the SONY EX1 and or EX3 it blows away the Canon in very bright contrast situations. See
