I've hi lited the flaw in your thinking.
The only way the US masses would uprise in any cohesive fashion is if the Religios Right took over. Then you guys would really need your guns. Otherwise dreaming they would come together and fight is just that, a dream.
Would you fight if a leader stole an election?
If a leader took you into an illegal war?
If a leader ruined your economy?
So what exactly would it take?
Dictators have a habit of getting the Army and Police well behind them first. Look around at the World. When didn't they? French Revolution comes to mind. Revolution is an option when your kids are dying of starvation.
Even the Russian Revolution had soldiers on their side, returning soldiers from the front and the Navy fired on St Petersburg.
