With all that said, NameCheap is a good choice for many here, but beware when you're using NameCheap, you are most often actually an eNom customer - for some here that may be a business risk they'd rather not take - there are many other good registrar choices that too offer excellent transfer-in / renewal deals.

I thought Namecheap became a stand alone registrar the last year or two ago. I seem to remember something about that change. Anybody know what happened to that? They were no longer going to be a reseller.
