That is to say, theres lots you can do in an app that you cant do in the browser, but it's not like you are going to make a claudie-marie.com flashlight app, or something that uses the phones gps etc. It sounds like you want something to interface with the site, in which case you may as well just do it as a mobile browser site. You could use the same script you have with another set of templates and be done wiht it.

Already have a mobile version. But it can't do anywhere even close to what an app could do for the site. It's built on your tube script and we've hacked it around to be a social site as well...each member has his profile, private messaging, favorites, etc. And we have a facebook style wall.
A really nice app for members that made all that stuff much more accessible and slick on a cellphone would be the bomb.
Right now for instance, I really like the Wells Fargo app for my bank account. I like the MySpace app. I like the Twitter app. I like the Fandango app. In each of those cases they just make it soooo much more user friendly to use on a small cell phone screen and tiny cellphone keyboard. I'd like to give my members the option to download that app (as long as they aren't on iphone of course) instead of using the mobile version.
