I am biased as to whether I like the movie as Christopher Mallick, the producer of the movie, stole money from me that may have helped finance the film. You see, the movie is supposedly loosely based on Mr. Mallicks history in adult. While the movie suggests he got out of the industry, he actually went on to start a company called ePassport. In September, 2010, ePass suddenly imploded and Mr. Mallick has yet to return the millions in customers funds he was in possession of. Ironically, it was later discovered that when you sent money to ePass, it was routed through a friendly bank. Many have speculated that this friendly bank loaned the money to finance Middle Men, which Mr. Mallick boasted as being self-funded. Coincidentally, ePass evaporated at the same time Middle Men bombed in theaters. The theory is that loans that covered the production of Middle Men were called and Mr. Mallick was unable to repay due to the movie flopping. People think he then used the millions in ePass funds to pay back the backers. It doesnt seem too far fetched. He is either sitting on the millions, or spent them illegally. I am one of the people Mr. Mallick stole from. I am only out $600, but one guy from Canada was out over a quarter of a million dollars and actually committed suicide. In many ways, Mr. Mallick is just like the Russian mobster portrayed in the movie as he possesses blood money since at least one person killed themselves over his massive fraud. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. If Middle Men wasnt such a flop. Mr. Mallick may have ended up with a great sequel.
