In the last few days before he left Epass you could tell he was upset by it and losing faith. That was true to a lessor extent about a week before as well. I don't believe he should be blamed for any of this.
You gotta remember that Michael O. is an employee. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If he starts talking a lot of crap about his ex employer and begins spilling secrets many potential employers in the industry won't want to touch him because they would be afraid that he would do the same to them. If he doesn't talk about it people will get on his case like this.
Unless you find the guy had a part ownership in epassporte I think you need to give him a bit of a break once he meets you halfway in light of the circumstances. He's gotta eat too.
