If we turned California to a pure 100% American Hispanic only state with no federal aid they would be able through their natural work ethic and fairness sustain a taxable and working system.

Now, if we turned Georgia into a 100% African American state with ZERO aid or support within a decade it would look worse then Detroit and probably more like Rwanda. Why? because all the intelligent blacks would leave knowing that it's not a workable system.

Here's why and why most Americans even refuse to talk about it. It's going to sound harsh, but we all know it's true and something our "white" ancestors created that we have to live with. Anyway, the majority of blacks brought over were not cultured South African or even East African, but Congolese. In the slave trade they were culled and prized because they were the most durable on the boat ride over, could be controlled easier, and worked hardest on the plantations in the heat.

Our ancestors took it step further and breed blacks for 300 years like prized canine for their strength and hard labor endurance. Then we completely stripped them of any authentic culture or ethnic heritage and then one day opened the gate and said you're now free.

In short, we breed pittbulls for 300 years and then let them go in the community and told them to go run with the border collies and labs. What do you think was going to happen? IMO affirmative action is just trying to turn a pittbull into a working border collie.
That is definitely a logical theory that only has the one drawback of assuming intent on the legislation. You have more faith in our political leaders to think things through to that depth. I assume they wanted to win votes and that was an expedient political move to achieve the ends they wanted.

I think almost every friend I have has a story of affirmative action going awry, I know I have a couple myself. I think if we are going to integrate the 'pitbulls' into society it requires a strong social network to support and educate those we want to have the right flavor in the melting pot.

I know that last sentence sounds like something that could have come out of NAZI Germany, but the intent of it is to say that education and common goals should be shared within society and the burden to make it so lies with us. Affirmative action goes against this as it has always been and will always be a divisive tool wielded by one group against another.

its like slicing bread with a hammer
