NameCheap is good overall, but
beware they are predominantly an eNom reseller. And hence
eNom's policies, including the eNom / LegitScript partnership, applies to most NameCheap registered / managed domains too.
Is Namecheap doing something wrong here with LegitScript.com ?

Beware: eNom and NameCheap Suspend domains based on bogus claims by a fake company (referring again to LegitScript.com)

In short, NameCheap heavily utilizes eNom for new registrations and transfer-ins. It's highly likely when using NameCheap, you would actually be an eNom customer!
Having your domains, in effect, with eNom may be risky depending on the nature of your websites and the level of privacy and security you desire. There are many other better registrar choices, such as the off-shore one mentioned several times above.
