Hell most parents only have time to get their kids a happy meal during the week and maybe help with their homework a couple times a week. My kid was surprised I could help her with her trig, I was surprised I still remembered it!
But being a parent doesn't end when they turn 18 either, Mine is 22 and I still talk to her, never at her. I take her feelings about things into consideration. I just wish she would stop sending me messages in Japanese, I know she's going to class for that, but I just know she's making fun of something. LMAO

I had shitty parents (and watched Mr Rogers... if you could see me now I am sure that would be an amusing mental image) I repaid that by being a very involved father, always there for my kids and they trust me I am sure as yours do you. My 21 year old still lives at home while not at college and my 15 year is probably the gentlest, kindest young man I have ever met. It is weird looking up to him... literally, he is about 6'3"

They also grew up watching Mr Rogers. Fred was a generational influence in our house. That is why what Fox News said was so damned disgusting, they carelessly spew out filth about something that had a very good effect on people.
Hell I used to joke about my sweater and wont you be my friend like everyone else I knew, but I always had the utmost respect for that guy
