Assuming you have a Windows OS ...
Schedule a "chkdsk" to run at next bootup, the command is "chkdsk /r /f" then "Y" for "Yes". Also, run "SFC /SCANNOW" - you don't have to restart your PC for that and may need your Windows installation disk.
It will check your Windows core files integrity ...good luck.
