I think it's ridiculous how the police handled the situation, I have no idea how the US legal system handles juveniles but it appears they treat them the same as an adult which boggles the mind. As somebody pointed out, an 11 year old has no idea and really no ability to know what his rights are. Something very wrong about that.

BUT...... the 'therapist', we have no idea what the credentials he/she has. Is it a psychiatrist? psychologist? whoever they are can't with any certainty say what danger this kid is to anybody else. the kid is already a fuckup obviously, ADD is a bullshit blanket diagnosis given to kids ranging from just your garden variety spoiled brats to kids who are the next Jeffery Dahmer. And shrinks can't predict who will actually act out on threats and who won't.

His 'therapist' may have told him to draw stick figures when he was frustrated but when you have an 11 year old drawing himself pointing a gun at teachers and writing 'Teachers Must Die' that is cause for alarm. There are innocent teachers and children who have this little weirdo amongst them. Absolutely not beyond the realm of possibility in the United States for an 11 year old to get his hands on a gun. Rather than arresting him the kid should have been suspended from school indefinitely and a court ordered mental health assessment done by a psychiatric department of a hospital.
