Unions convince the fucking sheep that "Live better, work union" is the way to go. But you can’t live better if you are not union. My wife used to have the ability to decide whether or her money could be used in political campaigns but the Union removed that option.
I have gone out there in protest and vote according to my conscience. My wife has a hard time wanting to speak up at work. She fears retribution. Unions are vicious organizations that care not for their own workers but their political agenda.
Quick example. When negotiations are going and the choice is take a pay cut, furlough days or 20 layoffs. The recommendation of the union to the voting teachers, 9 out of 10 times, is layoffs. Why? Because they rather have 480 happy voting teachers with full pay and benefits than 500 angry teachers who now may vote another way. According to the rules of seniority the 20 newest teachers without tenure would be laid off.
BTW, do fucking assume what my wife can and cannot do at her job. Also what I said before is not for you to agree with, its fact. It’s like saying, I don’t agree that the sky is blue.

Its crazy insane that $170 isn’t much money. You have a EGA as your avatar. Were you making a $100k plus per year. What I remember was not getting paid much money. I sure as hell wasn’t getting paid $100k or more per year. What do you consider a fair living wage?
Under Federal law she can quit the union and keep her job.

It's not all fact, thats why I didn't agree with it. For example "Teachers at lower income school districts get higher base pay then wealthier districts." Within the same district, that isn't a bad thing - it should work that way. But it's not like a teacher in a town with a 1000 total people earns a higher base pay then a major city teacher.

Everything that the unions do that you don't like, you can find an equal amount of positive things they've done to help. You're just not looking.

I couldn't pay my bills on a $170k a year in OC... and damn sure not have any type of life style that I have today.

If I was anything more than a meet bag in the Marines, I would have made more. I'm about equal to a teachers assistant at that level, don't really make shit because I don't know shit.

Now an educated teacher, going in as an officer, would make more that me at the bottom and if they stayed the course, for 16 years and roughly O-6, they'll make about a $100k a year and up over $150k a year with more time and rank.

That's before they get out and almost all go directly into Gov Contracts/Grant type jobs, making even more on our Tax dollar.

Depending on education, where you are, what you're doing, and your history, it's just about equal other than the life long military person will make way more money over the persons lifetime. Which is a good thing in my eyes.

Overall, the States aren't screwed because of unions... .or teachers, anything related. Even if they're a big part of the budget, because that's 'exactly' what taxes were actually for, to make "our" lives better. Get rid of all the other shit, and magically we have enough money. Change the fact that the state is forced to sell it's natural resources at a lower rate than they're allowed to buy them, and the States problem is solved - all without changing anything else.
