Here's an example of a "good life" for a "slave". Go to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and you'll see loads of brand new townhouse complexes all over the place. Almost every townhouse literally has a cell in the basement. Small room about large enough to lay down in with a toilet, tile floor, and the door has jail-cell bars.

If you're a wealthy doctor, businessman, or whatever, you simply goto your local "Molly Maid" agency, and order a maid from the Philippines. Sign for a VISA, pay some money, and a couple months later this cute, petite 22yo thing shows up. You pay her $150/month, and for all intents and purposes, she is now YOURS 24x7x365.

At night, after she's put the kids to bed, you lock her in her cell, and let her out the next morning to get the kids off to school. You can beat and rape her all you want, make her eat off the floor, and nobody will say anything, because after all, she's just a filthy Filipino. The maid will never complain, because the cops won't listen, and if the owner ever found out, he makes one call to immigration, and she gets deported back to the shithole she came from. Either that, or the owner just kills her.

And this is in Malaysia, a relatively wealthy country. And in the higher-end neighborhoods of Kuala Lumpur. This is the "good life" for a modern day slave, so I could just imagine what happens in places like Zimbabwe. "Need some child soldiers? Well, got a few 14 year olds here, and I'll give you a deal. 3 for $200!"
