In Russia they have Militia transformed to Police recently. It's barely a real change but renaming. Since Russian language has pretty long words they love to make it shorter with abbreviations. And fun is they barely thought of it's meaning creating long names initialy.
I'm not sure about American stuff, but i will try to, at least, compare government unit functions.
Police Inspector that takes care of youth problems sounds like PEESDOON that in Russian would mean "the one who does shitmouthing around, somebody telling offensive lies".
Road Police Inspector would sound like PEEDR that is offensive Ghey
And Universal Government Inspection would sound Gay !!!
Geezuz, i keed you not!
