So you're ranking the severity of disasters based on their death tolls?

Japan is prepared because they're frequently hit with earthquakes, and they're trained extensively on what to do when an earthquake hits.

Despite that, the death toll is at 1,000 and climbing. This earthquake was HUGE, and it definitely ranks high up with there as a far as natural disasters. The quake and it's resulting tsunami have caused billions in destruction, leaving millions homeless.

This isn't like a disaster hitting Chile or Haiti, with raggedy houses and huts collapsing killing millions.

This disaster left Osaka, Japan in ruins.

It's a big fucking deal, no one is 'inept' about the history of disasters, especially in our lifetime.
