I've read of some people using NVIDIA cards with CUDA to generate them. I guess this would help things. But what I have seen suggests it is intended to be barely profitable due to the required energy use. I suppose if one had their computer on all day and it was non-scaling with wasted cycles they might pull out 10-30 bitcoins in a month with a quad core and a CUDA capable card. Here's an interesting thought as well:
