One of my corporate clients is a large pizza chain ... so I just tell family and new acquaintances that I am [pizza chain]'s webmaster (which is not a lie).
My mother knows what I do, and is perfectly fine with it as long as I am "not involved with child porn" ... but uncles, aunts, grandmother, etc., are told the pizza chain webmaster gig, which covers for making a "decent" income too!
At one point, my mother and my sister (both between jobs) were submitting galleries for me!! :D
