I have and I can't recall even one where a character went around killing everyone to hoard supplies. Maybe some crazy dude who lost it and he usually gets his ass shot but the survivors were groups because they knew there was strength in numbers.

Someone would have to be a complete idiot to think they would be better off sitting in their bunker by themselves than with a group of people. At some point they are going to need a doctor or engineer or just another pair of strong hands not to mention companionship to really survive.

Ever watch the movie " Castaway " with Tom Hanks? Why do you think he risked his life to leave an Island that can easily sustain him on a crappy raft. He had every thing he needed to survive but was willing to risk his life for something else. What was that about?

Your line of thinking is really the biggest threat to mankind. We won't last when people take an " every man for themselves " attitude and put it into action.
