PR and Alex are important
the PR or page rank does matter somewhat. PR is googles way of letting you know that it is an authoritative web page and with their new rules, some folks are getting stripped of link juice and punished getting dropped down in keyword searches a lot. Just as important of PR is the alexa rank which considers the amount of web traffic that particular site gets. you can have a low PR site but with high alexa numbers, you will be able to charge more for advertising.
