Plus, it all depends on many factors: traffic sources, your sites, the niche, how do you market things and so on. The sole wrong selection of advertising material could make a vast difference for the same site. So, unless you test and test and discover what works and what not by trial and error, the only thing you'll get is "spammy anwers". And it's only logic.

Last time I gave away a couple of my secrets, I got some webmaster referrals, I now make an extra $10 per month (i.e nothing), but the sites I promoted are all over the net. Lots of people skip the referral link for sure, then those who you referred will refer others, you make nothing for that. Currently it doesn't seem to make sense unless you are doing it full time. I'm undecided as to whether to give it another blast, I have lots of nice data, especially as a former statistician.
