I do not think that the republicans are pretending it doesnt want to raise the debt ceiling, I honestly believe they dont want it raised. That doesn't change the fact that they and the democrats HAD to have it raised or default on the national debt.

it sucks but unavoidable. I felt it was pretty childish of the representatives who practically held their breath and stomped their feet trying to not raise it
