You are correct sir, the Israelis are probably the biggest target in the world and they do not perform these kind of intrusive practices. What they do is pre-screen everyone who approaches their airports by walking up and
gasp
talking to them
Turns out a properly trained agent is able to identify behaviors consistent with a person with bad intentions. The ones they spot are segregated for further inspection. But they do not stop there, the outside screening is just the first step with people during the entire process of boarding a plane trained in what to look for.
If someone is willing to be patted down or run through a body scanner to help them feel safer then good for them, I consider it a violation of personal privacy. But who cares, just one more right we should give up for the state
