My first HDTV cost me $2000 and that was the Sony Bravia at 720P 5 years ago.
With regards to online, I still prefer the PC over a console.
Steam is still going strong.
And yah - PS3 has the best Exclusives. There are just so many good surprises on the platform. Such Siren: Bloodcurse, Heavy Rain, Demon Souls etc.
To say that the Xbox runs multi-platforms better, is a bit of a stretch. These days, the multi-plats are on par. And their are some exceptions such as Burnout Paradise - being better on the PS3 than the Xbox.
It use to be the case, that a developer would make the Xbox a lead platform for development but that rule is no longer strictly the case. Developers now realise that developing on the PS3 as a lead platform, helps offer a similar gaming experience for everybody.
BTW - did you see Twisted Metal.
