Plus consider this - social media has really a lot of factors that lead to success or failure. Webmail really doesn't, which is why Gmail took off...there wasn't much Google had to worry about, just funnel people in and have SOME features.
These group-buying coupons are even less complicated. Really good deal for something that you MIGHT buy? Sold. And they can leverage maps and search to funnel people in. Groupon may have gotten there first but they won't last, especially with many businesses using them feeling they're getting screwed.
The whole group buying thing is interesting anyways...group buying is to coupons/deals as exgf is to amateur...just a repackaging of the same ol' thing only slightly different and people are falling for it.
