Not sure where you're from but where I live there's this thing called Contempt of Court. The judge can have you locked up for wearing a t-shirt he/she doesn't like. Calling a police officer a fat pig and then reprimanding the judge would have only gotten him about 30 days in jail with no bond. And when he got out...yep, he would have to go back in front of the same judge. The reason why people treat judges with respect is because they're the only people that wield the power to throw your ass in jail for as long as they want just because they want to. It's never a good idea to piss off a judge, unless it's Judge Judy.
