still disagree with this, I've had multiple long relationships, and honestly being single is better, it took me a while to mature enough to ignore societal pressures and also to realize that other than the immediate lure of sexual relations followed by the addictiveness of the familiar, it was really a huge compromise of oneself to stay in a relationship, and it was an easy thing to slip into deeper and deeper to where the complications of splitting up made it easier to stay trapped in the relationship.

No matter how great the partner is, it is a tremendous burden to have to deal with, but once you are free again and over the emotional addiction so that you look back with clear mind you realize how important and valuable that true freedom is.
