The reason I feel this makes sense is that it would make sense that Bin Laden would be in Libya leading the Al-Qaeda forces there. It must be remembered that the area that is the stronghold for the rebels has also been the top recruiting area for Bin Laden, so he would feel safe there. By overthrowing the Libyan Government Bin Laden would have created a safe haven and Qaddaffi has always maintained he was fighting Al-Qaeda.

Now, lets look at the American version, they got Bin Ladin in a luxury tourist resort while on holidays with his wife.
