Lots of the posts here are valid ways to live. I try never to say no, as its easy to be negative in life & not stay positive. There again, life needs to be equal which includes some negativity or we would all be the same, which could become boring or lack of sence.
Also, its great always good to stay open minded & never stop learning, wisdom comes with old age, like the grey hairs on ya ass ;)
I feel "Respect those around you as you wish to be respected" is very important motto.
