Yes, it is definitely possible and wordpress has been my favourite CMS by far. And I've been through a few.
My tour and members area are separate. But that's because I was using a different CMS for my members area even when I was using Wordpress for my tour. But it wouldn't be a problem to integrate them. I will probably integrate at some point when I have time.
I didn't like any of the standard available options for photo and video galleries. So I worked with Adam from
Thesis Ready to modify my members area. He did a fantastic job and it only took a few hours.
