Based on Rasmussen Reports, Obama's approval rating jumped 11% this past week. I don't foresee it holding true and things will quickly move back to status quo. Americans have short memories and a "what can you do for me now" mentality. Unless Obama comes out with something spectacular, I don't see him making up the -13 differential. How many American's have already forgotten about the BP oil spill?

One thing Obama has done is charge his opposing electorate (Tea Party, Birthers, Conservatives, etc). They WILL turn out to vote in masse. The question now is will the same people that voted Obama into power return to the polls this time? Obama had a great campaign and a lot of people who never voted showed up at the polls. Those were the people that thought Obama was going to pay for their rent, food, and generally just start passing out money. It didn't happen so chances are they won't reappear at the polls.

Less support from the original electorate and a wild frenzy from the competition. It's going to be an exciting race but I certainly don't see Obama winning a second term.
