The British SAS also like to think they're 'the best'. They're also a bunch of egotistical overrated clowns, like all the other 'special forces' units that also claim to be 'the best'.
At one time 'elite' forces probably were good at what they did, and professional. That was when you didn't know they existed. Nowadays with books to sell and movies to make, it's all dick waving, publicity-seeking and bad ass self-aggrandizement.
Still, it gives keyboard warriors something to get a vicarious hard-on about.
