First big fight scene with Thor and the ice giants was perfect, he just kept kicking ass. I can't wait to see this all pull together in The Avengers

Saw the movie at a midnight showing Thursday night then again Friday night, I would have watched it one more time yesterday night but I made the mistake of staying home to watch the SyFy Thor movies (shudder cry shudder)
I LOVED the movie, however there were some things they fucked up in the movie I'll explain them here and TRY not to have any spoilers, but I honestly believe that if you're planning on seeing the movie you already KNOW about these things...
1) The way Odin "looses" his eye is total bullshit, in both the comics and the Norse mythos that happened VERY different.
2) The Origin of Loki is off (I won't say any more for spoilers sake)
3) The way the chars said various words (that changed each time they said them) was horrid, for example Loki is a juntan (or Jotunn) pronounced either Yawn-tin or jah-tin but in the movie they said it like yo-tin, ya-tin, ja-tin, ja-tan etc etc
Another example is Heimdallr (or) Heimdall The guardian of the rainbow bridge widely pronounced as hem-dale or him-dale, in the movie variations like high-doll, him-dell hoy-doll were used,
4) The lack of other gods/goddesses in Asgard. The ONLY gods/goddesses featured in the movie were Odin, Frigga (Odin's wife) Heimdall, Sif, Loki and Thor, The Warriors Three were a creation of Marvel and never appeared in the Norse texts. The lack of gods such as Baldur (Odin's son), Hoder the blind archer (Twin brother of Baldur / son of Odin) ALL of these were mainstays in the comics AND the Norse texts, and were part of the hierarchy of the gods.
5) The timeline was way off. This is sort of a staple with Marvel movies, for some reason Stan and co. LOVE to chop up the timeline and rearrange stuff as they see fit, any die hard X-Men fans know exactly what I'm talking about lol.
With Thor, ALL the events that took place in Asgard actually took place at diff times (with many many many years apart) in both the comics and the Norse texts I can't go into much details due to spoilers.
All in all even with my five 'gripes' I LOVED the movie, and I'm glad Stan and Co finally got it out there, and I can't wait for the next movie/s to come out!
And to anyone who reads this and thinks "get over it" or "It's JUST a comic book" allow me to say, Odin, Thor, Loki etc ALL come from their own religion, an old dying religion at best, but none the less Germanic Neopaganism has been around damn near forever, and has been known by many names, Odinist, Asturu, Forn Sed etc etc.
Stan Lee and Co, took likenesses and stories from the Norse texts and made them comic book heroes (Other then The Warriors Three) but sadly most people ONLY know of the comics.
Again Great flick, deff worth the watch!
