Just to be clear he did not point the gun at me, he had it in his hand and I didnt notice it for a few minutes because of the size, looked like a .25 to me. But when I saw it I said what, did you come over here to shoot me? He said no, I was going to shoot your cat. The thought to call the cops didnt even enter my mind at the time, I figured if he started raising it he'd be on the ground first so it wasnt a scary situation.

You would not need to invite him in. If a person is on your property and you tell them to leave and refuses, they are now trespassing with a firearm and that is a felony. If someone is committing a felony with a firearm on your property in most States you're legally allowed to shoot them. Don't know where he's at, but it sounds like the South.

This was in Colorado and we do have a Make My Day law and yea, probably could have gotten away with killing him, wouldnt be worth it.
