I don't believe she intentionally killed her child. A confiscated PC showed someone had searched how to use chloroform to knock someone out. Since she couldn't afford a babysitter she used the chloroform to make her child sleep so she could go out and party.

Somehow the child died from the chloroform and Casey panicked and put the child's body in the trunk of her car so it wouldn't be discovered while she figured out what to do next. The body laid in the trunk and began to decompose so she was going to bury it in the backyard but didn't think she could get away with it so she took it to a wooded area that was familiar to her because she played in them when she was younger. She dumped the body quickly so she wouldn't get noticed.

After that she quickly became ok with the situation and and went about her life like she never had a child. She made up stories as to where the child was until her mother demanded to see the child which became the infamous 911 call claiming her granddaughter was missing and it smells like there has been a dead body in the trunk of her daughter's car.

I'm certain Casey caused the death of her daughter but whether it was intentionally done I'm afraid there isn't enough evidence to prove that. The only way is if Casey gave a full confession but she's lied pretty much about everything so far so she has zero credibility.
