Hi Everyone,
I wanted to reach out with a few extra details.
1) Come hungry. The food is great, they have great ribs and BBQ in general. They make their own sauces. They also make their own elves that follow you around doing magic tricks. Just kidding. Hopefully you can figure out which part I am kidding about.
2) Come thirsty. Blues is a great place to have a drink, they have really good wines, fresh mimosas and some good beers. Gabe says that anything served in a flute is "spectacular." He does say that at every bar we are at though, so not sure how much that means in terms of Baby Blues.
3) Attire: For men, completely casual. Women are encouraged to dress scantily (low cut skirts and tight shorts, yoga pants and those delightful tall boots are some suggestions). Remember, Jean-Marie doesn't feel well, he is VERY SICK, so doing things that make him feel better is encouraged. Thanks.
4) I encourage as many of you as possible to be there as close to 3pm as you can. Its going to be an interesting afternoon, you have been warned. If you like, just pretend it starts at 2:30, this way you are perceptually fashionably late by LA standards.
5) Its going to be very busy, to be honest, I had no idea that Jean-Marie had this many friends. I was planning on it just being a few Euro's talking about soccer at the bar while I filed off my left toe in the corner out of total boredom. Its clearly going to be much larger and a lot more fun.
6) Soccer will not be permitted to be playing on any of the TVs, I don't care how bad Jean-Marie wants it to happen or how sick he claims to be. Its fundamentally wrong to play soccer in this country on a bar TV.
7) Mike Majid and Catie Desjardins have been working on a raffle. Looks pretty exciting. One of the prizes involves the winner buying Catie and Mike dinner. One of the prizes is the winner treating Catie to the spa for the day. They feel like this is going to be amazingly philanthropic.
8) Women are permitted to flirt with Jean-Marie. His wife really can't say anything about this, he has cancer, that would make her look really super bad. Really super bad people end up in places not called Heaven. Something to consider.
9) There will be no discussing soccer at this event.
10) We have had some people asking about kids. This is a bar, but its also a restaurant. The tables are located in a dining room that still connects openly with the bar. Some of the party will already be in the dining room. So its a workable situation if you need it to be. We do not have tables reserved per se, that would be on you. If you need any help, let me know.
11) This is to have a good time, that's all that's expected of any of you. Lots of different friends of Jean-Marie's will certainly have their stamp on this, but the most important stamp is for everyone to have a good time. Its a joy to see everyone coming together and I know I speak for everyone when I say that we can't wait to see you all.
