Most that say they are gurus in sm really are clowns, it's just so many saying they're gurus... the .5% is just the few that actually put it off among the crazy amounts that pretend like they do.
Guy is crafty fellow, he's trading viewers for the attention he can send back later, prime example of what he does.
I've seen people though with crazy amounts of followers/friends, subscribers, a major following basically that hardly ever said a word, they don't socialize at all, they don't guest post, and they get more responses, faster, than those that never shut up and you see all over.
It for sure has something to do with the flavor/niche. If you're a media whore that dumps news on people, nobody expects you to socialize. Lots of things work that way though...
