BUT the vast cultures and people are just something you need to see to believe, in a good way. I really didn't start to enjoy myself until I got down to GOA (the last week) and was upset with myself and should of went there first and stayed.
The great relaxed beach atmosphere, food & culture, inland waterways, best shopping/bargains, and by far the coolest Indian people IMO. Depending how old you are it's a great place if you're 20-30's because of the nightlife and dead easy to hook-up from what I saw. If you're older (40's+) and get out of the major beach towns it's a wonderful place and could not think of a better place to retire on a budget. In short, when I get stressed out because of work or whatever, my warm happy place is memories of GOA to relax.
I've also been to South Africa, Russia, Turkey, Egypt, ETC if that interest you....

Goa does sound really good! Had a friend who visited a few years ago. Might have to ask her where she went etc. And see what she has to say about it. I'm pretty sure she loved it aswell.
Egypt would be nice, but perhaps not just now.
