Actually, that's not what happened.
A bunch of people went crazy mimicking my "see sig" posting style, and posting pictures pointing to my sig for a few days and bumping threads like crazy doing nothing but that. It started to over take the board, and then Eric passed a new rule that it wasn't allowed for
anyone any longer. Whether inspired by me, or not.
