Paul is a fucking idiot. Shap didn't own the license, his company did. Shap sold the company. Thus, everything that the company owned - the sites, the domains, any content licenses - passed on to a new owner. The owner changed, nothing else. And license or agreement or contract Shap signed passes on to the new owner.
