I do.
I live in Northern California, north of Sacramento. While we don't have earthquakes here in my area, California does, and anything is possible. I lived through the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, and for me the biggest thing was four days with no power. No power means everything in your fridge goes bad in 24 hours, and your living off of canned goods. No power also means no stores - no power to run the lights or cash registers.
So we keep a lot of canned goods on hand - A LOT of canned goods, enough for the three of us to live off of for a few months. We also have lots of bottled water. When the stuff goes on sale at Costco we stock up.
I also have pack backs in the garage with clothes and emergency gear "just in case" we need to leave the house in a hurry. My wife thinks I'm crazy.
