because it rly boils down to 2 issues- player access to the books and an 18 game season or not.
regardless of how much the players make, they are still employees, salaried employees. their salaries were many times based on rev share in a deal where the owners did not have to reveal the financials. i think it's very fair to allow access to the books if you are going to compensate employees based on revenues.
as much as i'd love an 18 game season, i understand why the players do not, as it stand under the current agreement.
fact is, those owners are raking it in big time, i've read they will all still cover themselves if the season does not happen just from the guaranteed television dollars. and goodall took the side of the owners, plain and simple when he should of taken the side of the fans. so fuck him, the owners i can understand, they really don't have anything to lose from a lockout, the players and the fans lose.
